1.The tipping bucket rain gauge is outdoors for a long time and the operating environment is very harsh. Therefore, the inner wall of the rain port of the instrument should be frequently wiped with a soft cloth to keep the rain port clean. If there are foreign objects such as leaves in the rain port, it should be cleaned in time to keep the waterway unblocked. When the instrument is not used for a long time, a cover should be placed on the instrument ring to protect the rain-bearing opening. The long-term work of the instrument is generally cleaned up once a month and once every three months.


2.Check-in time after each heavy precipitation process to prevent overflow. During the precipitation process, when the amount of precipitation may exceed the measurement range due to a large amount of precipitation, water should be drained in time during the intermittent period of precipitation. It is expected that there will be dusty weather but no precipitation, the barrel mouth should be covered in time, and the cover should be removed in time after the dusty weather is over.


3.During the precipitation process, pay attention to analyzing and judging the accuracy of the precipitation data. If in doubt, conduct field tests in time. First unplug the data cable, connect it to the data cable of the rainfall calibrator, and reset the rainfall calibrator. Use a special measuring cup for rainfall calibration to measure 10mm of water, slowly pour it into the inner cylinder, and simulate rain intensity of 2~4mm/min. Each on-site test is repeated 3 times, and the error calculation is performed separately. The error is less than 4%, and the test is qualified.

Damaged parts

Damaged filters and funnels, cracks or deformations in the tipping bucket, etc., will seriously affect the accuracy of the measurement. To this end, we need to recalibrate after replacing the relevant parts.


Loss of invisible parts

The process and change process of the loss of invisible components are very slow and difficult to find in time. For example, changes in the rotating shaft of the bucket and the rust of the filter may cause rainfall deviation. This kind of error can be adjusted regularly to ensure the accuracy of the equipment. After the adjustment is completed, there will be no significant changes in a long enough time.


Dust accumulation

In addition to the regular cleaning of the dust on the inner wall of the equipment, the precision parts will also become a place of "hiding dirt" due to the difficulty of cleaning at first. In this regard, we also need to deal with internal dust during regular inspections of invisible components.

 

Reed pipe is not sensitive

The reed switch should be checked from the following aspects if it is not sensitive:

 

First, check whether the sensing part is aligned with the reed pipe. Under normal circumstances, there will be a crisp sound when the bucket is flipped.

 

Secondly, check whether there are any cracks or obvious signs of damage inside the reed switch.

 

Finally, check whether the welding of the reed switch is firm.

 

Line failure and poor line contact

When the equipment fails and the conventional physical fault has been eliminated, but the rainfall error cannot be eliminated, it should be considered whether there is a problem with the rainfall circuit board or poor line contact.
